Better WiFi Signal??

Hey Guys, im living bout 100meters away from a pub/restaraunt with free wifi but i can only get one or two bars, if i put my laptop on my windowsil i get 3 sometimes 4 bars but its pretty inconvenient. Just wondering how do i go about getting a better signal throughout the house? can i add some sort of antenna of something that might strenghten the signal? any info would be great since i am a broke student and need the internet! thanks!
