I got the NTL Digital value pack installed two weeks ago and its working fine, when we moved into our new house there is an ntl point in the bedroom, tried to connect the ntl digital box into this point and I couldnt get a signal.I set up upstairs the exact same way as downstairs was.Do I need to get this point turned on?Is it possisble that this point has no connection into it,hence no signal?

Check your normal analogue stations on a TV connected to that feed, if that works then you do have a signal, but the signal could well be degraded so much that digital will not work.

Most people with second points from NTL put in officially will have to pay for them monthly. I got a deal where they installed for €15 each and there is no monthly fee.

If you did get NTL to install the second point then I think you are fully within your rights to change the digibox to that point. And if it does not work they should have to come out and sort it, replacing cabling if needed, all for free.

However if it is a DIY job you have no comeback, you could request them to come do it properly, but will pay, and possibly have to pay a monthly fee, in which case you might be better doing the recabling yourself or get a third party in to do it.

If it's an ntl branded point (with the ntl: logo on the front) then it's most likely disconnected outside at the tap. As rubadud says though, they may charge you extra per month for activation of this point (€2 odd per month, per point, IIRC)

Ye its an ntl branded point and the previous owners got rid of ntl and got sky in.My ntl is through MMDS,would this "tap" be up on the roof and would it be easy to connect?
