I thought for sure that it was a plastic water bottle being squeezed, or a plastic crisp bag being blown up and deflated, but its not.

Sounds plasticky still, or maybe I just cant get that idea out of my head.

Ok so here's the exact wording of the two clue's for the 98 Secret Sound of the City:

clue 1: There are millions of these used everyday.
do they mean in ireland or the world? this would seem to indicate something in an office, a school , a car a shop.
It is also multiple objects, and not a single thing.

Clue 2: Not often found in the home......
Therefore cant be food, drink, wrappings, computers, appliances, clothes, credit cards, playing cards, poker chips etc.

    big clue on friday apparantly!!!!!

FM104 have now doubled the money and put their amount up to €7,000 for 'whats that sound' every hour!! And, they are now playing from 7am until 1am, giving the secret sound a run for it's money (no pun intended there folks!!) :)

Anyone any idea's as to what it could be?? Tricky one this! If you tell... I will go halves with you on it! :D

Anyone from 104 fancy giving us a clue please? Will split the cash with you! :D

I was convinced it was someone shuffling playing cards, but someone guessed that today and its not. :(

Ah, i have another theory in my head.. but i dont know if i should try and guess it or just wait til friday for the clues and keep ringing in hoping for the best... (i reckon they'll be obvious clues)

if you listen to it very closely, then it sounds like two sets of two clunks behind the crunching.

I was thinking it was someone using a price label dispenser gun on frozen veg in a supermarket, but the clues dont fit.

It definatley sounds like heavy plastic crunching, but what isn the action that is taking place??

They said before that someone had come very close in one of the listed gueses.

Was anyone listening at 8:15 this morning? Siobhan from the morning crew said one of the guesses was 'one word out'. Needless to say I didn't hear the guesses.

Thank Christ for that. I’ve no choice but to listen to 98FM in the job and if I hear one more person guessing bubblewrap I think I’ll crack up.

    Cheers.

According to 98 website it was one by someone in Swords who guessed "Shaking a sachet of sauce in hand". I wonder if he won €7,000 or €20,000 ?

How is that slippery when wet???

ketchup is a liquid, it doesnt become wet, it is!

that clue threw me off, and i ignored that guess cos of that clue, aggggh!!!!!

Consdering the answer today was “SHAKING A SACHET OF SAUCE/KETCHUP WITH YOUR HAND”

It's seems a bit unfair when you consider some of the incorrect guesses:

    Taken from the 98fm website:
    crushing sugar sachets together.
rubbing vinegar or ketchup sachets along your fingers.
squeezing the last curry sauce out of a sachet.
crushing a bunch of ketchup sachets.
    crunching on a ketchup sachet.

He only won the €7,000. He was the 3rd caller and the first caller had the €20,000 but didn't get it right.
The winner said that he had texted in the answer before but as it was only a phone competition, the answer didn't count.

Oh my god, I can't believe that's what the sound was. It sounded nothing like that! Lucky guy who won though, fair play to him.
