The new S2 is announced, I don't think its going to be in most of our price bracket though, I saw a report of 20K for the body and 4K for the standard lens (seems silly to call it the kit lens:pac:).

37MP and 56% larger than full frame.

I'm sure it's a wonderful camera but i cant help thinking it's the most generic styling i've seen in a long while.

Maybe it's a good thing - minimalist approach
    :)

certainly not in my price range anyhow!!;)

Heh, had seen the rumours on this over the past few weeks. I like it :)

the lack of dials looks appealing, but the menu will probably have a steep learning curve.

Well thats a bit of a wierd one , its like a cross between a MF and 35mm camera. I didn't actually read the specs, I thought that Leica had just released a new 35mm dSLR. The big question is ... Is this not exactly what its rumoured Nikon is doing ??!? All those MX rumours ? The MF sized sensor inside a 35mm styled/sized body ? If so then they're goijng to be mightily annoyed to see this from leica. Unless of course this IS the new Nikon ! Ahhh, speculation abounds.

Big time, hopefully not to the point where it slows down everything else, but I'd imagine there's not much getting away from it.

I'm very interested in what's going to happen with lenses, last rumours before the launch were stating that it was going to take the M mount with an adapter, Leica's AF lenses as standard, and Nikon lenses with an adapter...

Nope, Nikon is going down the route I though Leica would take though, and potentially releasing a rangefinder style body with MF sensor.

I've seen another credible rumour that the MX thing is about a FILM medium format system. That'd be a sight to see :D

    Ha!

I highly doubt it though! I love these rumours, it's so funny, half of the stuff they come up with!

    I'd love a leica , but that money !!
the fake ones would be more in my range

Sure just grab a fed or a zorki from some Ukrainian Ebay seller. You can literally pick them up for 100th the cost of a leica. Fajitas AFAIK has some Zorki. I keep on meaning to pick up a Zorki 6 when I see it, and that Jupiter f/1.5 lens. If I can just find a seller that ALSO has the brace of large format russian lenses that I want so I can continue with my bizarre experiments ...

Yep, I have a Zorki - Bear in mind that they're nowhere near as quiet as a Leica, but it's a completly different sound to a normal camera shutter, more a dull single click than a "click click".

I got the Zorki 4K in leather case with an agfa flash for 15 euros, it was completly unused - however, expect to pay more than that online, where it's a niche market.

my next photographic expenditure will be a handy "good" pocket camera for day to day use - my Olympus is gradually heading towards its last legs

    possibly the Panasonic LX3

I have FED-2 (evo 7) and it has excellent lens. I bought it for apporx. €20. It is a camera to experience.
