At the minute I'm doing a lot of running back and forth with my laptop recording and playing back demos at different locations. It is driving me nuts though that I have to bring my mbox anywhere if I want to show a track to someone! Does anyone know of a program that will simply play back pro tools sessions or display a session in a read only mode without needing the dongle? I know I can bounce to mp3 or whatever but would really like to be able to see the session , even if I cant write to it, just handy for explaining tracks to people.

Jaysus man it's an M-Box not a friggin marshall stack!!!

There isn't a program I know of that'll do that. SSL make a DAW conversion application, I suppose it's about the same price as an M-box though. So eother was you are going to need a different DAW, even if you just consolidate the files and drag them in to a different one.

So you could just take a screen shot and play them a mix, or get one of these...

Ahhhh I know, but for instance, I'm in the sitting room. My mbox is in the bedroom. I really wanna listen to something I recorded yesterday but am faaaar to lazy to get up. Ergo, Digidesign blow.

But really, it's a serious inconvenience sometimes, I'm surprised there is no "session viewer" available, a freeware app like the thingy you can download to view power point presentations without you having to actually buy powerpoint. It makes sense. Ahhhhh! ........ better get up so. FFS.

maybe if you have another app that you can use on the machine of choice you could convert it with this and then continue working... not ideal, but an option.
