well seeing as i've been around here for a good while and haven't posted for c&c in ages i thought no time like the present,
just a few i took around my garden
wasn't any particular meaning behind them, they just struck me as what would make an interesting picture. overall i'm fairly happy with them but would be interested in ways you think i could improve them, composition, lighting, if it's just a boring subject etc.

    2. 2878749553_196524fe1d.jpg?v=0

    3. 2875533199_2ffdb54f74.jpg?v=0

i realise these will probably be recognised from the random photo thread. the one i would be least happy with in general i would say is no. 2 so if any one has any tips on that one i would appreciate it.

Hey Kateos - I don't know if it's my screen or something but the pictures all seem rather dark, or was that a mood you were trying to create?

    1. Looks quite well composed
    2. Looks like quite an interesting image in that the mushroom formation kinda looks like a mushroom itself from the angle you took it from.
    3. Looks rather sinister - might work well as the cover for a horror film!

Were these taken with the f1.8 50mm?

I like the first one best... lovely DOF & contrast

    The first one's pretty.

They're all great but I think no 2 is overshadowed by the pp on the others. They are lovely shots and whatever you have done afterwards is making them almost magical.

    Well done;)

I like the first shot the best. If you made it a little brighter I'd like it even more, it's a wee bit too dark. Easily fixed if you shot in raw :).

The second shot is OK. I can see how it brings you all the way up through the shot, leading the eye but I it's far too dark for me. Everything seems a bit small/far away without having too much to focus on, if you get me?

The last shot is pretty funky! If you could have pushed the flower blurred in the front down/out of the way, imo the shot would be 100times better

    Hope that helps :)

Yeah I would be a fan of the first one. Very very good.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the second one either, I like it.

yup the first one is my fav too.The colouring remind me of the palete used in Tim Burton's version of Sleepy Hollow for some reason....muted colours, almost bw.very moody indeed.

thanks everyone for all your comments, i was going for the overall dark and moody look in the first and the last one and see now (actually it's very obvious) that the second one is way too dark.

EDIT: yeah thirdfox they were taken with the 50, i finally got one!
