Hey everyone, Im not even too sure where I should post this.
Right there is a old Telecom Eireann phone box outside my parents house at home. It has been there as long as i can remember. I think it was put up around the early 80's.
The phone box is in a pretty bad state and the last thing i would want to see happen to it is it been taken away. So i have decided to restore it.

This is not the actual box but it give an idea of the repair needed.

This is what i hope to achieve.

Ok so i need help. Does anyone out there know where i would be able to find old phone boxes so i could take parts of them. Like a telephone box grave yard. Im trying to do this for as cheap as possible.

All information you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ciaran
    :)

First of all find out who actually owns the box, then decide what to do.

    Hey KTRIC,
The Phone box is on my parents land.
It is the property of Telecom Eireann.
All other similar phone boxes in surrounding area were taken away years ago but they left this one. So i presume that they have no intention in taking it away.

Cant actually help you. (sorry) But just wanted to say its a great idea, it would be lovely when its done and dusted. Best of luck.

I would guess that seeing as how its on your parents land the telephone company must have gotten permission to put it there, perhaps there was an agreement signed with them?

Hi littlebitdull, No worries. I understand its going to be difficult to find old phonebox parts but I have a few numbers of salvage yards so im going to give a ring around at lunch time.
I came across this earlier, Ideally this is what im looking for.

Telecom Eireann approached my dad in the early 80 about placing the phonebox on his land. I think this is the reason they never took it away. And unless the council decided it was an eyesore I cant see Eircom taking it away.

What kind of parts do you need? the phone box looks like its made of wood.

    Hi Monkey,
The parts that i am looking for are the door and casing which are wooden. The rest of the box is concrete. I also need the windows and frames.

Hi Ciaran, When you get the main restoration work done you will have a challenge painting the concrete etc. i came across a useful source of
info that deals with lots of restoration, painting related subjects which may be of use to you. I came across some great tips there. web is http://www.igoe.ie/cms/ George
