External Repeat Registration

I'm planning on externally repeating third year and have just received my registration form. Apart from the form generally being the most confusing and badly laid out piece of paper ever created, there's no part on it to select externally repeating. Does anyone have any ideas on what exactly I'm supposed to do?

Off the top of my head (I could be wrong) I think you're supposed to contact your faculty/department to be permitted to repeat externally prior to registering. I'd suggest ringing the Students' Union and asking for advice.

I spoke to the head of the department a week or two ago and he said I could externally repeat if I wanted to, but recommended I didn't. He didn't give me any sort of formal permission though.
I'll go and talk to the faculty head tomorrow then. I'm sure he'll sort it out for me.
    Cheers.
