I have one of thos charity boxes at work (the small ones like trocaire) and just found out it's been stolen!! I had it there for a while as I'm trying to save some money for my mother. She has the particular illness the box was saving for.
How low can you be to steal from a charity box!!!
    Uuuggghhh, I'm so annoyed.

Sorry for the rant I just had to scream even if it is online!

Was it a Bothar box or did it actually say Yore Ma on it?

The worst is that your mother has the ilness... It's really upsetting.

I held a charity day in work last year and a rake of money went missing. My dad has the ilness I was collecting funds for.

    It's horrible.

Wouldnt it make more sense to drill a coin-slot into the countertop or bolt down the box?

    That is ****ty dude.

i used to do this when i was a wee boy. then I realised i was being a complete prick.

so either the person doing it doesn't realise what a prick he is. or else he is just scum that will never learn. plenty of those around

if it really did say 'Yore Ma' then people would be more inclined to put money into it.

yeah that's a bad act... if it's someone working there who done it, i'd fire them myself on the spot

There is a box for our local hospice on the counter where I work. My boss regularly rifles it for change but does NOT put the money in to cover what he takes out. Makes my blood boil :mad:He genuinely can't see anything wrong with this.

Let him know how you feel, you can't be alone, get a few equally-pissed-off colleagues to confront him.

    :)
An anonymous email/memo on his desk might be more appropriate, then. Though, yes, it's hardly worth losing a job over.

I work in a place where it's over-18's only so I guess they'll never learn. I'd hate to think it was a staff member.
It was advertising the illness. Didn't say your (my?) ma on it I'm afraid.

It sucks!!! I hope karma works in this case anyways

Your mother (or should that be Yore ma?) has the famine?

    I took it btw.

Stealing charity money is ok cos it's in money limbo, it's no ones money till they get it.:)

In all seriousness though, never leave money where people can take it, because someone will.
