I want to remove vocals from one track, remove everything but the vocals from another and put them together. Is this possible to do with software? I'm using audacity at the moment and using low / high pass filters (yes, I don't know what I'm doing) at the moment and it's not working out.

I'm sure there are sprecific tool out there for stripping vocals but if you're just using audacity at the moment then you're better off using a graphic eqaulizer and manually stripping the frequencies. High Pass and Low Pass filters aren't made for stripping vocals. Most vocals lie in the mid section of the field so you're better off messing around with a graphic equalizer
