The McAfee OAS internet protection ISS gave me last year so I could access the TCD network seems to have expired (they told me it would last forever...grr), and since they removed my previous internet protection in order to install their's, I am now without internet protection.

Has this happened to anyone else? When does ISS open back up?

Strange, it shouldn't have expired, AFAIK.
Drop into them on the first week back and demand answers.

Pardon? You can have more than one internet connection on the same PC.

I don't understand it either, but apparently you can only have one version of McAfee on your laptop, and mine wasn't supported by the college network. Thanks for your reply.

Again, AFAIK, once you've registered, you can uninstall McAfee- they don't check every time you log on or anything like that. For example, I registered this laptop and installed McAfee, but since then I've switched to Ubuntu, and have no problems accessing the network.
So, you should still be able to access the network no problem. As for protection, try using AVG or something else, you don't need to keep McAfee after you've registered.

Yeah thats true about the server not checking each time you log on, but make sure you only have one anti-virus, if you have two, it ****s things up. Also, I heard that there were to be more compatable AVs this year. McAfee is a dreadful programme, Kaspersky is where its at!
