I have been working part time in the evenings (about 12-15 hours per week) and have never recieved any holiday pay. Is this legal? I have taken holidays and recieved no wages so if I go to my boss now can I get money owed to me?

Well, I have a part-time job in the evenings and I get holiday pay, so I think you are entitled to it.

yeah I thought I would but I have started another parttime job in the mornings and they have told me I will get whatever holiday pay I am entitled to so it just got me thinking. Does anyone know what the amount is per hours worked?

8% of the hours worked is the standard rate I think!

If you were taking a day off it is not up to the employer to automatically cover that day with your holiday pay, it is up to you to request the holiday pay if you are taking a day off!

You have to have worked at least 100 hours since you took your last official holiday to qualify for holiday pay. Once you've covered that base, you're entitled to 8% of the hours you've worked since then (or since the start of the year, tho at your employers discretion they may go back to your last holiday even if it was in a previous year, unlikely tho!), ie if you've worked 101 hours you get 8% of that, 250 hours = 8% of that etc....

It's important that you put in an official holiday request and state that you're looking fo holiday pay. Otherwise it'll probably just be assumed that you're taking some "time off".
