Can anyone help me please? I have my sister's E-system got from PC Wolrd last year. They did not get a Win XP or a recovery disc. Her kids were playing with the Laptop when she was out shopping. When she got home the Laptop would not work. It goes to the "Safe Mode" screen everytime it is switched on. I have tried all the options "Safe Mode", "Safe mode with Networking", "with the Command Prompt", and "last known good configuration."

I was in PC World and was told that by tapping f8 I would get an option to "Repair Windows" but that option is NOT avaiable.

Specs; Intel Celeron M410 1.466GHz. On one of the labels it has E-System 3085 and G335 Series. I also have the Win XP Product Key on the underside of the Laptop.

Any help getting this operational again is much appreciated.

    Mick.

PLease give more details on what you mean by "not work"?

I take it passes POST so that should mean that the hardware is ok and its just the OS that has fouled up, is there any other message that pops up on screen to help us help you?

MC, Apologies for not geting back sooner. I was able to get an error message which was a "Stop String" starting with pci.sys ...... ...... ..... I got fed up trying to fix it an dhave given it to PC world (where it was bought). They said that it could take up to a week to get it corrected depending on "exactly" what is wrong with it.

I went onto the MS Knowledgebase and found the "Stop String" but I was bit worried of doing anything with the Laptop; hence the reason for giving it to PC World. I'll update this when I get the thing back and hopefully be told what was wrong.
