    Hi there,

Just wondering what anyone recommends as food to serve during a home game. We've done the whole order pizza, order Chinese thing, but it's just too messy and takes away from the action. There's always chips + dips, but where do you put them that doesn't obstruct peoples view of the board. It's a dilemma. Recommendations please.

Dont have food while playing, take a ten min break after a few levels to get some grub then back to the cards. Gets too messy otherwise imo.

No levels - only play a cash game at home, as players who get knocked out of a tourney would be rather bored.

Have the takeaway food before the game starts.

After that people can eat as much chocolate, cigarettes and crisps as they want, but nothing that disturbs the game.

Edit : Smokers will understand what I mean.

    What do cigarettes taste like?

People eating smokes these days? Gets around the ban anyway.

bowl of peanuts, popcorn and crisps with dip does the job with a few cans!

chinese is far too messy alright and just takes away from the game.
another option is just have a big plate of sandwiches/sausagerolls/chips too.

Hi Squidgey, edible cards obv...27o? munch munch munch. Would make drawing to a flush more of a dilemma if you happened to be petty hungry. And if you think your kicker isn't going to play? munch munch munch.

Has the home game with John et al run at all since I left?

My mate made us American chicken wings, so we couldn't pick up our cards lol, he'd always put a decision to me as soon as I picked up a piece then I'd need 5mins to wipe my hands :D.

Hey hotspur. How's the states treating you? Nah that home game hasn't happened in a while [especially not with John]. Dave K tried to resurrect it recently, but didn't put a time or date on it so the idea kinda fizzled. Jnr. kinda eats up most of my time these days, splashed with the occassional gig or 2.
Having a game in mine on Friday for my mates from home. I think I explained the rules to pretty much everyone of them once upon a time. I remember when we first played it was a home tourney and you weren't allowed any pre-flop raises due to objections from the crowd. Things have changed slightly since then. Didn't qualify for Memphis, but heading off to Paris in 3 weeks time to GP.
