I see paddypower are doing rake races for the next 4 weeks. I was wondering has anybody ever tried one of these. How many hands would u need to play in a week, how many tables at a time etc. Also would it be worth the effort due to burnout, winrate suffering etc.

I have done a few and did well in them.... but as you say the winrate can suffer... one month I played 80k hands for a rakerace to win an x box360 and tbh I nearly fried my brain and my winrate was just over 0bb/100. I think if I played normally I could have bought an xbox...

also I'm not sure if this is a skin only rake race or a network wide one...
If it's network just look at some of the sickos playing 10 k hands a day and the like

yea its just pp alright, don't think i'll bother trying tbh. Certainly couldn't or wouldn't even attempt 10k hds in a day, that to me sounds most painful.agree with u about the winrate unless the prize is quite sustantial then u will probably lose overall through winrate, boredom, tiredness and having no life.

You just have people teaming up and doing shifts so they are playing nearly 24/7. It's next to impossible to do well

This is only a ppp thing so i would say not half as many hands would be needed as if it was a whole i poker thing, n from what i can see the prize aint that sustantial for the hours n hands needed.

yeah I remember a few of these guys too... do u remember a guy cooker his name was some letters like tt12id or something... he played 24/7 for 30 days solid on 16 tables.... he rarely left tables and was often sitting with 5/6 buy in's for days....

Someone told me after he didn't get the prize but dont know of this is true or not..

A ppp in house rake race wont need near as many hands but will still need a lot

It could be hard for NL players to win these - I play LHE on ipoker and recognize numbers 1,3,5,6,8,11,13,14,.... on this

Their winrate definitely suffers, they table select very badly (result of playing every table going)

I don't remember him off hand but I would hope they stop him. If it is blatant there is more then 1 they should be disqualified. Although I doubt anyone who ever wins them doesn't do something like that

We did one before but just had one leaderboard for all levels. After feedback, we've split the levels up into three different leaderboards... micro-stakes (0.01-0.02 up to 0.50-1), mid level (1/2-2/4), and higher (3/6 and up).

So not worth it. Burnout is almost inevitable. I know at least one good player who was never the same again after participating in one.
