    :mad:hi im just wondering does any body know how i can change the names of some of my files in i tunes without typing in the names one by one?
    i have 20000 songs in my i tunes and about 3000 of them are just "track1 track2 etc...i really dont want to type for days trying to get it sorted so if anybody could help thanks alot in advance.......

    p.s. most of my songs werent imported using itunes i had them on external harddrive.

    Is it just the file names you want to fix? If your ID3 tags are in good shape and you want to rename the files from the ID3 tags (this is what I do), iTunes is not ideal - but you can do it with the free media player Media Monkey and then re-import the songs into iTunes:

    That's assuming you're in Windows. If you have a Mac, you can do the same ID3 tags to filenames tagging using Tune Instructor:

    Even if your ID3 tags are messed up, you can use Media Monkey to fix them first and then have it batch rename all the files too - it's a fantastic application for keeping your library in shape.
