Hmm, the wait is because of Film Studies not starting until 7, and it's run by the art's department- I doubt they have any computers to hack :P

    Also,
A hacker is a person who is very proficient and experienced in how computers work.
Cracking is hacking with criminal intent.
    :P

Its Final Year. 6 hours of seminars all in the one day. I will be expected to study a bit separate to this.

    Envy.

I have - I **** you not - FIVE 9am starts. And about 30 hours a week in MT. WTHIGO!? I thought that the move from SF science to JS Neuroscience would be kind on me. Apparently not. >_<

It's system that only shows you your own timetable, so I see the SF CS one. The JF one will go up here(the one there now is my old one, last years'), but I don't know if that's local access only. Keep an eye on that page.

The timetable that is up for me is actually my timetable from last year. Hmmph.

I wouldn't put too much stead in the SIS timetables anyway, they can be misleading or even plain wrong at times.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,433 ✭✭✭the flananator

I've forgotten how to log in/access my timetable on the ISS page. Any ideas? And yes I'm aware f how foolish I look. Thank you:)

    You're going crazy.

You probably confused it with the one that became a JF timetable request thread ;)

Is English & History JF out yet, does anyone know?

If so, any super-sound people out there want to make my day?

That's TSM, right? I don't think they're available online, you either get your timetable from the noticeboard of your course, or you access it on the TCD portal, which shows your own personalised timetable. But you can't do that, you're not registered.
So, you'll all get your timetables in Freshers' Week!

Hmmm, it always amazes me that no matter how they change it around, the 1st year CS timetable consistently always sucks donkey balls. I mean, they stop putting on maths in the morning, and instead put on electrotech and telecoms. Even worse :P

I think I made that lecture about 5 times in the year. just wasn't happening.

Early morning maths was never my strongpoint. Except on Wednesdays (or whatever day it was), when it was in the Museum Building (which I love).

Computers and Society? NANI? I thought that was only a joke..
Computers and society is actually a great course if the class gets into it. All sorts of interesting topics and debates, and not too difficult.
The second point is that the advancing technology will empower a relatively small elite to achieve mastery over the human race, who may then adopt a destructive attitude towards the populace. If one considers the world as it is now, control over the computer networks which have power over our everyday lives are in the hands of a number of companies. Already, there is the capability, one which is used, to share information between two of these networks regarding one particular person- for example, addresses of clients are often shared between organizations for the purposes of advertising(so-called ’junk mail’). It is not a huge leap of the imagination to envision one central group having access to all computer networks across the globe, perhaps first ostensibly to provide oversight, then moving on from there to a goal of dominance over the people of the Earth. I realize this may sound like a science-fiction plotline, but I consider it, certainly at least, feasible as a future course for humanity.
See? Really makes you think, it's courses like that that make you go to Trinity, it's a broader education in CS than how to program.

That new CS timetable is really, really bad compared to the one we had last year. :(

1BA5(Electrotech/Telecom) first thing? They tried that with us, by Trinity term the average attendance was 4. No foolin'

I can't confirm that as i never made that lecture, although this may prove that the statement is correct

First years have no 9am starts though, that rocked last year.

We only have one this year, but it's on a Thursday, and I like going out on Wednesday nights :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,764 ✭✭✭shay_562

No Mondays, so that's pretty handy! But I have a 4-6 on Friday afternoons, which I'm going to miss at least 4 of during Michelmas Term alone - any weekend that I'm debating or playing frisbee down the country/abroad. Bollocks. I'm foreseeing another year without a single Golden Week.

Hm, so I have half of my timetable now. Can I wait an entire other week to find out the rest?

    Probably.

Just praying for not too many 9am starts, really don't want to be cycling in at rush hour/waking up before 8am.
