A club for a target pistol shooter

I wrote here a couple of times, long ago. I used to do target shooting (10m air pistol and 25m pistol) in Spain and moved to Ireland last year.

After much indecision I finally went to the local Garda station to see if there was any chance of bringing my pistols to the country, and to my surprise (what I had read in this forum had scared me, to be frank), the answer was "I don't think there should be any problem, provided that you join a club and get a gun safe"!

So I'm now in the hunt for clubs that will accept me as a pistol shooter (air and .22cal) and that are accessible by train or by the old share-a-car :)

I already know where Rathdrum RPC is -- when can I pay a visit? :)

I'm sure rrpc would be happy to give you more information and arrange a visit when he's online.

Hi Jacobo, spoke to you before on this topic, so you already know about the train station in Rathdrum :).

The train is not great in the evenings, the last one leaves Rathdrum at around 9pm so you'd have to take the train down at about 5pm to get good range time in. On Saturdays and Sundays it's a little easier as you can leave Dublin as early as 10am and head back as late as 7pm.

Any time you want to visit, drop me a pm and I'll arrange it.

Dublin, near the Grand Canal Dock station. A small but crucial detail I forgot to give :)

Same Garda district I'm in, but I think you'd be under a different station to me. Irishtown right?

All my dealings with the Gardai in E district have been very pleasant.
