Every get a month where everything goes wallop? First of all, my 1x12 Rectifier cab dies, but Thomann were brilliant with that, they arranged collection, shipped it to Germany, repaired and returned it FOC in a 2 week turnaround. Then the cable from my wireless to the guitar became flaky, then my Jem's jacksocket became flaky, and then this week in the middle of a wedding gig, my Boss GT-Pro died and refused to bootup again, and is up in Roland Ireland getting a new board.

So this weekend because I'm out of time to repair the Jem, I'm playing with my wolfgang and a Behringer rack unit (*shudder*). Roll on next week when everything should be grand again ... sigh.

It's got me thinking though, I'd like to have something like a Korg Pandora in the guitar bag in case my rig goes again. Anyone have any experience of these?

Things like this are exactly why I run my rig the way I do. I can survive if either my amp or pedal die or if one of my guitars goes. If the amp dies, I run the pedal straight into the desk and if the pedal dies, I can survive with amp distortion.

Get a POD as a backup, you could run it directly to the board if your amp fails.

I just keep it simple. Guitar ->Tuner + Booster -> Amp. If anything in the middle goes wrong, I just plug straight into the amp.

I've spent a bit of time on the Pandora website. The PX5D looks to be exactly what I want, tiny enough to put in the front of my gig bag, and still versatile enough to be used on stage if everything else fails. Now to buy one :)

What pedal are you using that can go straight into the desk?

Got myself a Korg Pandora PX5D today. Neat little unit! Plenty of versatile sounds in there, and a song trainer that can slow down an 80 second riff for learning purposes. Hopefully I won't have to use it!

Our guitarist has this, it's pretty handy. He can get a nice sound out of pretty much any amp (of course, the better the amp, the better the sound)

never had anything fail on me live, i guess i'm not that unlucky... yet! there have been occasions where the bass was too quiet and because i was playing really hard to hear myself, my fingers got tired and started to blister. i suppose fingers could be counted as equipment for bass ;)

I bought a Boss GT8 for this exact purpose, it got a minor knock first gig and a know fell off. Total POS. Looking at the Line 6 offerings now.
