    Hi

Ticketmaster now have a special promotion for the Grebenshikov concert in the Olympia on Tuesday night, selling 2 tickets for the price of 1, which should basically bring down the price to about 25 euro (i think that includes their fee). I saw them play in the Royal Albert Hall last May when I was in London, and its well worth the money.

heres the blurb from their website:

On Tuesday 23 September, a unique world music collaboration arrives in Dublin for one night only, spearheaded by Russian household name Boris Purushottama Grebenshikov (known as BG to his fans). In a prolific career that has spanned almost four decades, BG has continued to enchant his audiences with new sounds and a lyrical language that has earned him the affectionate title "Poet Laureate of Russia".

The concert will blend BG's poetic folk lyrics (which has inspired comparisons with Bob Dylan), with a 17 strong orchestra with instruments from all around the world. This international community of musicians first performed to a capacity crowd in May 2008 in the Royal Albert Hall to great acclaim.

Throughout his career, BG has been heavily influenced by Irish and Indian music, which is reflected in the orchestral lineup for Tuesday's performance. The orchestra features special guest Brian Finnegan (flute) from the award-winning Anglo-Irish band Flook, who has been described as "a thrilling talent...playing of breathtaking suppleness and dexterity" (Scotland on Sunday). The concert will also feature Becky Taylor on uilleann pipes and Frank Torpy on bodhrán.

Leading the Indian music contingent is Sheema Mukherjee, niece of Indian legend Nikhil Bannerjee, on sitar. In addition, Alok Verma on tabla and Arpan Patel on harmonium. The concert will also feature Maria Pomianowska, who will play a range of instruments from around the world, including the North Indian sarangi, the Chinese erhu, and the suka, an ancient Polish instrument whose resurgence she has spearheaded.
