ok so last month i was doing a bit of purchasing online and everything was good, but i stupidly left my credit card beside the pc and along came my brother and signed up for these fecking stupid cam girl things (porn is free ffs i told him).

these were the payments made last month

so i sat down with him and went through every site he went to, unsubscribing to these stupid things, and i thought i got all of them.

the credit card company rang up and said they were putting my card on hold until i explained these payments and i said to them fair enough i was stupid and take full responsibility for the payments.

now this month 3 more have popped up

now sat down again with him this morning going through his email and found one site we didn't unsubscribe from, so unsubscribed from that this morning haven't found any others.

now i know this is doubtful but is there any way i could avoid paying these fecking things?

also could i cancel the card, apply for a new one so that these charges do not appear again as i'll have a new card number?

Cancel the card, you don't know where these payments are going to come from, so it's the best course to take. Especially if just one site took 3 payments this month.

Then kick seven shades of sh1te out of your brother.

They should do. Just explain that it was used by a family member without your consent, and now you're being subscribed to all sorts of websites. Perhaps AIB can even reverse the charges, since you didn't actually authorise them. This has the potential to land your bro in trouble, but I'd still ask AIB about it. They might be able to reverse the charges, for this month anyway, and then cancel that card.

I've cancelled my cards a couple of times and the banks are only too happy to replace them.

The reason for one cancelation was a suspicous transaction in a bricks and mortar.

Usually takes about a week altogether ,to get the next one online.

Cancel the card but the bank wont reverse the charges.

Report your brother to the police for fraud. If you do not want to do this, accept the charges and cancel the card and be more careful!
