    Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good mobile broadband provider?
I am debating between 3G and Vodafone, usage will be mainly in and around the Dublin area but also good coverage across the contry would be required from time to time.

If anyone uses or has used either provider, or any other, I would be interested hear what what the coverage and upload/download speeds are like and you think of them.

    Thanks,
    Dec

I have friend that uses Vodafone in Galway. He's in a part where there is no phoneline broadband. He says Vodafone is fine for general surfing but don't try and use your webcam on it, the speed is just not able for it and surfing/chating at the same time.
The speeds are supposed to be up to three megs but he has never gotten that! I could be wrong but I suspect 3G will be along the same lines. Someone here soon will hopefully confirm or deny...

I have Vodafone 3G in Dublin. It's quite good, but can drop back to EDGE speeds depending on the building you are in and where specifically you are.

Speeds have never done over 1.8MBit for me. It's fine for audio Skype but I wouldn't be trying to run a 2MP webcam off of it as upload is ~300kbit usually.
