Haven't seen a topic on this...

Life with Playstation launched today - it will download and install if you access Folding@Home.

It combines google news, weather and live pictures of 60 cities around the world, including Dublin. The weather is modeled in real time on a 3D globe, which is pretty neat. It works alongside Folding@Home.

Anyone used it yet? I played around with it for a bit this morning, but the news stories didn't seem very relevant to Dublin!

Nice application to look at, but I doubt I'll be using it regularly.

No way of setting your home city, whenever I open the app it goes to Madrid then a little tour of East Asia. There's no image of Dublin and the news is bollox. I know it's a free app and I don't have to use it but they could at least make it useful.

Ehh I'm not really seeing any point to this as it is. How is Estonia's gambling problem related to news for Dublin?

It's a nice addition to folding ,I like the way the globe keeps moving and the headlines are shown for cities.
Seems to be a screensaver for folding more than anything else

I'm right in saying though that presumably having this application running slows down the folding, in the same way that having music on does?

This crashes my PS3 when I try to update to it.

Installed it last night and a waste of time and bandwidth it was.

It's nothing special ,it reminds me of the screensaver that came with ATi graphics cards "Earthsim"
That required a subscription though ,which I enrolled for and found it a waste of money.

At least sony are releasing this stuff at no additional cost ,can't see anything wrong with it.
