Swords to Bray tomorrow morning

I find myself needing to be in Bray at 10 am tomorrow morning for family reasons.

I seem to have two options 1) public transport and 2) car.

Does anyone know where St Fergal's Church, Ballywaltrim is relative to the DART station in Bray? I imagine that if it's not far, the best I can do is pick up a DART from Malahide to Bray.

Else, how long can I count on the drive from Swords to Bray via M50 in the morning? Seeing as option a is M50 and option b is eastlink toll via town both within rush hour zone I am considering going well early if the church is some distance from the DART station.

    Input appreciated, thanks in advance.

The church is on the corner of Killarney Road and Boghall Road. It'd be quite a walk though .. Google says 2.6km or 32mins. There are buses .. the 45A, or the occasional 145 that goes via the station, or else walk up to Bray Main Street and get a 145 from there (they're quite regular at that time of the day).

Don't bother waiting at the station as you could be there ages. Most of the 145 bypass it and go straight up to Ballywatrim.

Rather than get a Dart to Bray and bus to the church, you could just get the 145 straight from the City Centre. That's what I do myself.

You could do that, but if you're coming in by Dart from Malahide anyway, it's possibly marginally quicker getting to Bray from the city centre on the Dart than on the 145. You'll have to do a brief walk anyway to get from a station to where you can conveniently hop on a 145 (probably Connolly to O'Connell St. I'd guess) so it's a toss-up between that or a comparable walk up to Bray Main St. to hop on the same bus. Six of one and half a dozen of the other I'd say.

Would anyone be interested in developing a transport site for Ireland that gives the same level of information as the Traveline website in the UK?

You can put in a street/city/town/village/station/airport or other location as your start and end points, choose your mode of transport and the website will tell you all the connections you need to make.

And it gives you map and timetable links to click on for each section of your journey along with timetabled/estimated journey times.

If only we had something similar in Ireland. :(

Want to say thanks to you all.

I eventually drove and the journey took 45 minutes, door to door. By DART, Malahide to Bray is slightly over an hour so in end, that wasn't really an option.

Not what I would have expected at 8.30 on a Friday morning, but there you have it. Alun, I really appreciated the map.

Glad it worked out OK. Traffic is pretty light south of Dublin heading southbound in the mornings but that's still pretty good going.
