I used to train on the gravel pitches down there with Stella Maris like 7 or 8 years ago. Thems were the days....

Brought me two midgets there a few weeks ago and its terrible, all that space and the facilities there and its completely overgrown, burnt out bits of motor bikes, broken glass,,,,, suprisingly was heartbreaking,, all it needs is a bit of tlc, the race track is there as well but is in the same condition,,dont ya love fianna fail and all their investment into the local community!!! We still brought the kids around on their bikes and they had a ball,,,,i wonder whose respondibilty it is, the council i suppose

Now can anyone see a pattern forming....

Gay Byrne is a big wig in the RSA...
He lives in Howth..his journey home potentially takes him past this location every day..
shouldn't the RSA get a form signed or whatever these government type bodies do when they change ownership and take on and educate the kids.....
instead of leaving a fat sweaty two faced county councillor watch the weeds turn it into prime development land...
    thank god for the recession.
maybe we can all get back to the business of living... and not selling everything we can get away with.....

Reading this thread made me very sad.

My father used to take me down there with my go kart at night and I would race it as fast as I could :)

I know that's completely against the ethos of the place, but still :)

Nope it is now gone and in its place are artificial full sized gaelic pitch, a full size football/rugby pitch and 3 or 4 5 a side football pitches and all floodlit. It looks really well and I hope that all the clubs in the area get a use out these facilities.
