    Just looking at the rules.

I had not looked before & I now doubt I will enter as this is lurking in there.
All entries remain the property and copyright of RPA.

    Read the T&C ...
Will I still own my creation?
In order to conduct the competition RPA must have free use of the creative work thus all entries remain the property and copyright of RPA. RPA will consider returning the copyright of artwork that is not used by the RPA at the request of the entrant. RPA will also consider returning the copyright of artwork that is used by the RPA at the request of entrant.
    (emphasis mine)

    CabanSail beat me to it.

Why can't they just have a condition where they get the rights to reproduce the winning entries for a certain period. There is no need to take the copyright.

    Sorry I raised this now.

Everytime a competition of some sort is posted, people always highlight the copyright clause as a deterant.
The way i see it, most amateurs will go out and take a pic specifically for the competition and, like myself, will not care who retains copyright.

A picture of some "Tram Bouncing" would surely bring home the prize!

That's probably true. Its good to highlight it though. All the more so because its completely unnecessary on their part.

Yea, definitely unnecessary and can also lead to the assumption that they are stock building a collection of photos for future campaigns, but even still, if i was entering this comp - i wouldnt really care about copyright!

So is there a theme, or not?

    Is this competition for children?
No, it is not solely for children. The RPA-Luas Art Competition is a democratic competition and everyone and all age groups are allowed to enter. The entries will be split into categories based on medium and age. These categories will be defined by the RPA once all entries have been received.

As opposed to a totalitarian competition? :D

Looks like theBaz will be competing against children then!

Already a thread about it in the Arts and Crafts forum - suggest you read it beofre you enter (especially the posts about "prizes")

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.
