Are you looking for a free program or a good one?

Pro tools HD (Pro audio sound editing and recording)
Pro tools LE (Junior audio sound editing and recording)
Cubase SX (One of the best packages for mixing and editing at a good price)
Nuendo (Many bigtime producers use this bad boy I believe)
Logic 8 (Logic rocks ass and is the best overall value)
Garage band (Give it a try on any mac)
Sonar (Killer app producer edition is a beast)
    Cakewalk (Old school DAW)
Abelton Live (Savage DAW especially for dance)
Reason 4 (Mega program ideal for sampling mixing and creating)

What music do you want to record? Have you a budget?

Delia Smith's programmes can show you how to mix together a good cake.

A DJ mix, should have made that clear.

So I want to mix a load of already-made songs. Im not going to use Cubase just to join ten songs together. Im looking at it right now and I don't even know how to make a simple drum beat.

Joining ten songs together is not mixing. You can use Bias Peak pro for the Mac, there are a number of cut and paste PC programs.
