5D MkII - I held one in my hand today!

I was at the launch of the 5D MkII today in Canon's HQ in London and I got to hold one in my hand! I've felt for a long time that the 5D is classic camera in more ways than one.

It didn't look or feel much different to the MkI to me. I'm personally very happy about that as I was afraid we'd going from a 60's Ford Mustang to an 80's version (tbh.. yuck!!). It felt good to hold and the shutter speed possible because of the high ISO capability is just stunning. The dynamic range at these high ISO's is amazing.

We weren't allowed to put a card in the camera but we so the shots on screen, someone in the Irish Group called it being able to shoot a black cat in a coal shed :D

These are shots I took of it with a lowly 400D :)

It'll be interesting to see how consumers react to the plethora of choice available right now:
    D700
    A900

    and now the 5D MKII

The interesting thing is that each has a different niche:
    D700 has great low ISO
A900 has supermegapixels and in-body stabilisation (which may be important for some)
and the 5D II has video a la the new Nikon D90

It's a button for direct access to the White Balance (I think).

:) :)Canon basically said (but not in these words!) "Look into my eyes... look into my eyes!!" :)

Apparently your 5D Mk I is still new for a while yet as stocks aren't likely to hit us until November,
