Free dictation software

    I've tried the standard google searchs, anyone using simple win PC based dictation software where you use the keyboard etc to record, play, rewind , and FF. It would need to record to .wav or .mp3

    Audacity would probably be your best bet, You can define keyboard shortcuts in its preferences...

    thanks for that, i have that SW already, i must try it for that, I was looking for something a little more basic though, (its for someone else) I have tried some already and they seem ok, might just run with one of them, i just wanted something robust and simple.

    audacity does just about anything in that area, you never know when you might need something else that it's doing
