Is it possible to fix keys back onto a keyboard properly if the white scissor thing has become separated?

I have a DELL Latitude D600 Laptop and the 'U' and '7' keys have come off.

Any help or advice would be great.

I have done this a couple of times. It is not easy.

First thing to do is figure out how the little white X works. Look at one of the existing keys at the side. Gently lever it up to look at the way it fits.

Once you have done that you can duplicate what you see and fit the two broken keys.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

You're lucky. I've done this a few times before and dells seem to be one of the easiest (saying that it's still a pain in the ass), I had a hp once where I had to get three keys back on and it took me ages. Like cormic says figure out how to connect the scissor clip properly, then you have to connect it to the keyboard and then attaching the key is easy. You'll need buttloads of patience.
