Weird CD Problem...

Hi all,

Something strange has happened on my PC lately. About 2 days ago, an icon appeared in my sys icon tray, called InCD 5.9.8.0.

Instantly i thought it was some sort of malware/spyware. Im running Avast 4.8 and MalwareBytes, and i did thorough scans with both and they came back clean. When i right click, there's no exit option. It's not showing up in tskmngr, and it's added tabs in the properties of my CD Drive.

I've been trying to burn CD's with Nero/MP11 and no success. Wont recognise the drive. It won't show up in Add/Remove programs and I haven't updated drivers or anything lately either. A little help please...

Have you tried pressing ctrl-alt-del and subsequently "Task manager" to see if there was anything 'odd' running in the background?

InCD is a part of the Nero Burning Suite, it allows for drag and drop support files onto CD RWs, it can be uninstalled from within Neros add/remove components I think,

If I remember right, during an install and uninstall routine of the full app' you can specify what you want and don't want, correct Nick?

I think so yes, I think you can also find this option in the system tab of nero start smart, now I havn't used nero in a while, but it was there when I did
