    Howdy all,

this is a place for people to tell everyone else about some of their favourite songs that not everybody might know, you know the ones, you might have stumble across it on youtube, it might have been on a movie soundtrack or a b-side from some obsure indie band from the 90's. please put up links to somewhere to listen to the song youtube, myspace etc

    so let loose.

turn on, tune in and drop out

    here are my suggestions:

"pablo picasso" by the modern lovers
"down in mexico" by the coasters

Pablo Picasso is a great choice! Bought that album when it came out ( just a few years ago ) and have been a Jonathan Richman fan since, despite the weird and wonderful changes of musical style.

But 'Picasso' was a classic! Nice one!

The funkiest song ever is "If you want me to stay" by Sly and the Family Stone, which is probably still quite obscure despite a snippet being featured in an ad recently. Check it out on YouTube!

The Passions - I'm in Love With a German Film Star

Gloriously eerie, post punk iceyness from the early 80s.

Stunning. John Callaghan's I'm Not Comfortable Inside My Mind.

Sebastien Tellier - Le Long De La Riviere Tendre. Blew me away on first listen.

While relaxing in Budapest a few years ago, this was the song that was played on Central European MTV most. I dont know if they are Germany's equivalent to Boyzone. (i know they aren't, given what I have seen since) and I am always a sucker for a catchy song. And despite not knowing a word of the lyrics, this is as catchy a chorus that i have heard in a long while.

Wir Sind Helden - Nur Ein Wort
