One guy I worked with said "I'm going to miss you all...especially you" Then pointed at the coke machine. He rambled on a bit and then said "and eh, I have cancer, yeah that's right, that's why I'm leaving..."
Then he was told that was enough with the speeches.
You probably don't want to do that.

So you’re the manager OP and giving the speech?

Don’t stress about it. You can give the worst speech ever but bring the company credit card to the pub after work and set up a tab.
All will be forgiven and noone will even remember the speech
