    OK - Some very interesting weather on the way. This is a fine chart, pity its not a few months later:

    Interesting chart indeed. Daytime temperatures have cooled rather quickly over Russia in the last week or so with daytime highs barely hitting double figures. If this pattern holds for a while a rapid cooling of the near continent will take place. We could see early building of cold air pools over northern Europe as we hit early October. Any further east winds in the coming weeks would become distinctly cold.

    Not so sure about melted. The upper air temperatures are currently 3c. The maximum ground level temperatures this high would have brought us in July would be 20c to 23c.

    that's west of Lublin, about 150 km away, a ski resort in Karkonosze mountains. Its very unseasonal!!! Temps near 30C only 2 weeks ago!
