    Hi,

Just looking into getting our tickets for next years heinekin cup final, but are having difficulty finding an airline that suits our travel requirements, i know it is a bit early to be planning it and obvisously when the time comes we will have to go with what we can get.

My question is does anybody have any experience chartering flights or have any idea of how they are charged. We should have about 10 of us in the group to travel.

Hopefully i have posted it in the right place,

    Thanks.

Be very careful when chartering flights. There is some sort of legal requirement that to do so you need a licence to sell the remaining seats on the plane to friends & family.

A munster lady ended up in court because she chartered a flight and sold the seats at cost price to Munster supporters, 0% profit, but as she had no licence she was brought to court over it.

Best stick to the normal flights or ask a tour operator to organise one for you, but you;ll have to have the numbers built up already.

    Camper Van ftw.

I've been to three HEC finals in one, two in Cardiff (both Munster victories) and one in Edinburgh (Stade v Toulouse 2005), and it's the only way to go. I missed the Twickenham one in 2007 as I was abroad, but the rest of the gang went to London and did exactly the same thing. We've already the campsite and ferry booked for 2009, and will pick up the tickets as soon as they're released. Irrespective of who gets there, it's a great weekend.

Edinburgh is handy to get to; drive to Belfast/Larne, ferry to Scotland and it's a short drive (1.5 - 2hrs if I recall correctly) to Edinburgh past Glasgow. You can comfortably sleep five adults in one (we've squeezed up to 10 people in there!), and the banter is great.

Worth considering IMO, and if booked early enough it's a great weekend and certainly works out cost effective when split amongst a group.

Do what I did and move to Glasgow. Then Edinburgh is only an hour away on the train :) Only problem then is getting to Dublin for games :(

If there is a gang of ye going i agree that Camper Van is the best. Edinburgh is handy to get to though. Been to a couple of finals myself. Flights ok if you have a hotel and rent a car. Camped this year and got blown off the field! I was wishing I had a camper van. It would be great craic too I'd imagine! Thant said I've already booked a hotel:D
