Read some books, do some research and try get a basic understanding of how the market works and why people fail with investments.

Honestly you are better off learning these things and coming to decisions on your own about your money than from some guys on an internet forum. You will get good and bad advice on here but how would you distinguish between the two?

If the markets were easy and cant miss investments were out there then everyone would be doing it and making a siht load of cash. But they're not.

As a start you could look back over some of the similar threads about investing and give you a nod in the right direction.

Best of luck with whatever you do and all the best with it.

QS THIS, you've just received the best advice you could hope to get. It's often not what people want to hear, but, IMHO, it's well worth following.

If you are working in the construction industry and you think that your job is iffy I would just put your 10k into a high interest account with easy access.

Why don't you read back over the past posts of the last 3 weeks - this is about the 4th one of these posts - you should take the time to read previous posts in case your question has already been answered

Good luck with whatever you do.

    Ps - Listen to J.O.C.

Ditto. If your job is secure then you could look at fixed term savings bonds. Not exciting like shares but exciting is losing all your money.
