Which guitar?

I'm getting a new guitar for my birthday but I can't decide which one I want. I'll mostly be using it for ska/punk and probably heavier pop-punk/hardcore. I've narrowed it down to these three; Fender Telecaster Standard, Hagstrom Viking, PRS SE EG.

My current guitar is a strat so I was thinking that the tele might be nice but would it cut it for the heavier stuff?
The viking has such a sweet tone, the colour puts me off it a bit too but I can change that.
I know the PRS is fairly plain but it might be the most versatile for what I'm looking for.

So what do you think? Any other suggestions? Price range is around €600-€700.

if your looking at hagstrom,try the super swede............they have them in music maker,so you can try before you buy on line.soundslive.co.uk sell them for good money(last time i looked they had a few on the shop spoil section.very nice guitar,and they do them in black if thats more what your looking for.

I would not be spending €700 on a PRS SE. You could get a second hand USA made PRS CE from USA for a little more.

The Telecaster has single coils which might not have the punch of a humbucker that you need for the punk/hardcore.....
If your Strat has a single coil, then maybe your next should have a humbucker setup, rather than single coils.

Check out the Edwards for your price range. Probably, best value around for new guitars in quality etc. They are made in Japan.

I also hear the Korean made Schecter are special quality for your price range.

Okay, I've had a look at a few of those but I think now it's just between the Tele and the Viking, maybe leaning towards the viking a little more now.
