I know the freeman on the land movement is very big in Canada and Austrailia.. I havent come across anyone from Ireland yet who have become a sovereign so hopefully by trying here i might find someone to network with :)

Is this what you're talking about; t_hlfsvdi.jpg

You might have better luck finding them on the Limerick forum:pac:

What is this about? Is it even in the right forum?

In a nutshell, being a freeman on the land or sovereign is when you leave society (not physically) and dont give your consent to be governed anymore (a lot of Irish travellers have this status at birth). You claim your own life. Its when you disassociate yourself from your 'person' and become a freeman meaning you dont have to pay tax, beg for permission to use your God given right to travel (known as driving in the society)... basically no laws apply to you, just common law - dont do onto others as you dont want done to you. It's a complicated process to achieve freeman status.. it involves a lot of research. You do it mostly through a "notice of understanding and intent and claim of right" Heres a lecture from a Canadian Rob Menard that got me interested in this in the first place http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=6399325693468031456 (skips a bit at the start) & part 2 http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-7257545709470673839

Thanks you for your answer, I had never heard of this movement and it's very interesting, notwithstanding it's child like naivety. Having Googled them myself, some other terms to describe or associated with this movement might well include; loony-tunes, terrorists, bizarre and anarchists!

Presumably this is a self-appointed, state of mind thingy- i.e. 'not to pay taxes, having no laws applying to you'? Because clearly nobody in this or any other jurisdiction can unilaterally decide such things, despite any garbage espoused to the contrary by these ludicrous groups; Okay, individuals may have varying degrees of success in evading their legal obligations in this regard, but the fact remains that they remain bound by the same laws that everybody else is.
