    Taken from the ICPSA website
    Open/Coaching Days:
On the weekend of Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September next the ICPSA will be hosting Open/Coaching days at the National Shooting Grounds, Ashbourne and Ballinasloe Shooting Grounds respectively.
These days will afford members and non-members alike the opportunity to have qualified instructors and coaches cast an eye over their performances and whether you are a novice or an intermediate shooter these clinics should ensure that all those in attendance will leave the events slightly the better for having been there.
Both sporting and trap will be covered at both venues and it is intended that open competitions will run alongside the coaching clinics.
The clinics are free of charge and will operate form 11am to 3pm on both days depending on demand and further details will be posted closer to the event.

It's not often you'll get something for nothing so maybe we'll see a few boards.ie members there!

Will there be the facility to hire a gun for the day or anything?

The local Gardai were asked to facilitate a "club gun" permission for those who wished to experience clay shooting and did not have their own shotgun.
The Super at Ashbourne refused on the grounds of "safety" :confused:as he did not want members of the public using firearms for the first time around other members of the public:eek:!
So for that venue the answer to your question is I am afraid "No".

No final word on Ballinasloe yet, so watch this space.

    That's a shame so.

You won't be able to "hire" a gun for the day, but that's not to say you can't have a one on one session under the supervision of a coach in the same way that beginners get their certificates of competency before getting their licence.
