    Hi all,
I'm a 25 yr old girl and my hair is extremly thin...as in you can see my scalp through my hair and I think I have the startings of a bald patch on top. Basically it's very sparse.
It's really getting me down. I have ordered Viviscal now, and am waiting on delivery, has anyone ever used it, and if so, what did you think?
Any other tips on how to thicken my hair would also be greatly appreciated.

Have you talked to your doctor about this? If not you should.

Don't have any idea about thickening you hair, but if you can find anything that works, why not shave your head? I've a few friends who were balding and they each just shaved their heads and apart from looking better, they feel better too.

Maybe because she is a girl?

You need to go to the doctor. Could be many reasons. Anaemia is one of them (low iron in your blood). If thats the case its easily fixed.

    Best of luck.

Weird, but true. A girl I went to school with started getting bald patches around the age of 17. She always wore her hair in a really tight French plait and was told that was the problem. She stopped tying her hair back for a few months and all was OK. OP - do you wear your hair tied tight back a lot?

I have very fine hair also ,I got it layered and then dyed it blonde .I have been taking cod liver oil for the past 6 months aswell and was thrilled the other day when my sis asked me how I got my hair thick again ( it isnt but looks it). But you should go to the doc first incase it is something thats causing it.

Eating lots protein rich foods thickens hair and nails. Drink heaps of bainne. May take a few months though.

Could be hormone related too, things like PCOS can cause male pattern baldness. I say go to your GP, they'll at least be able to refer you to a specalist if you want to go that route.

Definitely go to the doc if you havent already to rule out anything hormonal etc. Has your hair started to thin recently, can you think of a trigger, something you have changed that might cause it?

Other than that, make sure you are feeding your body the right things. Im not a nutritionist, so Im loathe to advise a list of hair friendly foods. All I can say is that in my own case, eating a healthy diet with lots of fruit, taking a vitamin supplement and a fish oil definitely helped the condition of my hair. (The actual cause was not dietary, so didnt fix till I found what that was)

I hope you get this sorted, I know how huge an issue it is, Ive been there.
