Hi, I'm new to this board because I always thought the interface was scary and intimidating. I lurk a lot, but today I decided to make a profile.

So here are photos which the boyfriend and I took on his relatively good camera. Let us know your thoughts on the angling of shots, focus, colour etc.

    So yeah:
    P8260025.jpg
This is a ruin one can see from the train out.. It was a ****ing hard picture to get because there were lots of railings in the way when I was trying to shoot it. It's also quite blurry.

    P8260028.jpg
That's a view of Cobh town between some leaves from the top of a hill.

    P8260031.jpgP8260032.jpg
They're two nice shots of the Cathedral. I sort of like the top one better better because the other one has houses in the way, but then again the second one is clearer and not being blocked.

    P8260054.jpg
This is just a statue by the harbour because of all the people who came here to emigrate to America. It was nice and the outstretched hand reminded me of Michaelangelo's Adam. So I did this -

    P8260055.jpg
But of course, I'm playing God.

    P8260056.jpg
Then this is just a terrible picture of us at the end of the day.

Anyone else have Cobh pictures? It's a pretty damn photogenic town.

Well congrats on your first post. You must be just starting out. I'll gpo one by one

1 was it raining there? I cant quite make out if it is but it remind me of some of my early shots, the camera tried to focus on the rain rather than the intended object.

2 Its a nice idea that you are going for but when framing a picture often it is better to go for less.

3 Its not bad at all, just a bit of a straighten in pp and you have a good shot

4 nice also maybe crop to lose some of the houses if that is what you prefer

5 and 6 in both of these I would crop out the orange thing(i dont know what they are called)

7 Your bf looks very familar. Probably not though!

Keep it coming nothing scary about us;)

I think the one through the trees would have been better, if you focused on something in the distance, rather than the branches.

I prefer the first cathedral shot.

These were both taken in Cobh.

Cobh is a place on my list of places to visit :)
Curious to what camera you two are using at the moment?
l can tell that ur enthusiastic to post ur pics & one of the most inportant thing to remember is, to enjoy yourself.
    Also practice, practise, practise.;)

get yourself onto http://www.picnik.com/ for cropping etc, and play around with ur photo's. My fav of all ur pic's is 'God creating Adam' reconstruction :o very original.

Question; Can you visit Spike lsland down there. Or is lt off limits to the public??

    One more thing Rohypnol....

It's just blurry because it was taken out the window than the train. :l

Yeah, this was the fella's idea. I didn't like it at the time but the photo seemed alright to me afterwards. I took some other ones from the hill too.

The yolk for the boats, yeah.. Good advice.

Go there, and also go to Blarney. I have rubbishy camera phone pictures of our trip there as well. I'll upload them next week at some point, I'm lazy at the moment. They're the two nicest spots in Cork in my opinion.

He says it's an Olympus FE-300, 12.0 Megapixel.

I dunno if you can visit Spike Island, I think it's completely abandoned anyway. We went on a ferry tour around the harbour, it was pretty nice. :)
