    Hello all,
just got my CZ.223 last thursday after all the messing with my FO being on holiday and all but i have it now,i targeted in at 200 yards on friday morning with 40 gr bullets,it has a set trigger, what i want to know is what use has a set trigger got and how do you get the most out of it,also its very loud so it could do with a supressor badly,so i have ordered a T8 for it,anyone out there use this model, thanks in advance.

Imo the idea of the set trigger is to give you the option of a lighter trigger with no creep. this would mainly be used for target shooting but an experienced gun could use it in the field, Personaly I don't like to use the set trigger in the field as you never know the movement of your quarry and the ability to take up the slack and hold I find useful. There is also the safty aspect of using a light trigger in the field with numb cold hands where accidental discharge:o is unwanted. The T8 is quite large and wouold upset the rifle as it has a reduced size action to make it a good handling gun aT4 would easly handle the .223 and be a lot better handling. Hope this has helped, FS.

I shoot the CZ varmint in 223 and i use the set trigger ONLY when laying prone on the bipod...ITs too sensitive for shooting off hand...
My mate has the lux same as yours and he has a T4 on his..I have the t8 on mine and there in no differance in i the sound. I would suggest a t4 for your gun as the lux is a very light rifle and a t8 would throw the balance way off..

The t8 is fine on my varmint as it has a heavy barrel and a chunky laminated stock so it balances out quite well....

Just my 2 cents worth mate..
Enjoy your Cz..There a good little shooter and they love 40gn hornady v-max.

The normal trigger can be adjusted if you didnt know.. The instuctions are in the manual and its easy to do.

If you dont have the manual PM me I have a copy downloaded..

    All the best
    Dwight

I have to agree with Dwighet on this.
My son has the same CZ lux 223 as you with a T8 fitted, which we both use. The T8 makes the gun "Top Heavy" and does not look the part either. I have heard both the T4 and T8 in 233 side by side and there is little if any difference in the report sound and they will reduce the 'Heard' sound of the bang but not the sonic travel of the bullet.

Earthmover congrats on your new rifle, I just got the same model myself two weeks great little gun. CZ USA states that the CZ single set trigger (SST) system provides the shooter with the options to effectively handle any shooting situation they are presented with. The SST allows for both a standard hunting trigger and a light target trigger in the same rifle. By operating the rifle in the same manner as any other bolt action rifle, the trigger is in the “standard” mode with the heavier of the two trigger pulls. By simply pushing the trigger forward until it “clicks” the crisp and light target trigger mode is set. It has been said that the single set trigger is a better aid to accuracy than a thousand dollar scope.

Right lads a question for yee that have T 4 or T 8`s fitted, how are they fitted do you need to get your rifle threaded fot it or does it slip over the barrel. Answers on a postcard to :confused::confused:

the barrel needs to be threaded and the t4/t8 slips over the barrel and screws on

The barrel needs to be thread and a bushing at the back of the moderator needs to be machine to suit to outside diameter of the gun barrel.

I have a prohunter with the same arangement for a set trigger. To be honest I never really use it I feel it is unsafe while in the field. When at the range I prefer the heavy trigger also - I find it more reassuring to work with for some reason

Well how did the early get up go for you. Any dead quack quacks????

Went out for a quick walk over 300 new arces I have permission on with the scatter gun. As usual missed anythng I aimed at, as Dwighet will confirm I must have a 100% record here with the scatter gun.
No I did get 1 crow with Dwighet some time back, but it did that a long time to drop, so only 99.999% record.

You must have been near enough Clive if it died of a fright :D. No messing now, persistence will cure your problem try a couple of different things like more lead on the target, cover going away and upward birds a little bit more etc, etc,.. . Maybe a couple of series of sporting clays will help as well. Maybe the stock is a bit short and a recoil pad will cure the problem.

Endless options realy, it's up to you to find the right one but the sporting clays with a bit of coaching might be the best route to travel.

The thing that helped me no end was trading in the scatter gun for a rifle!!!!!!:o

Kick a man when his back is turned I'd cry only I'm laughing so much.
I want/NEED one of those AA12 auto shotguns it's my only hope now. Sean the dealer in Urlingford will give me discount on the shotty shells

Took the dog with me last night. He's only a Yorky but preaty smart when he see's me going for the blaster from the car boot he won't get out of the car or else he stays where I'm pointing the gun, he knows he's safe in front of me.

By the way I was in Spain last week and stopped to see what I could smell. A heap of chickens cooking on an open rotating spit with ham hocks under them. But under the ham was 2 rabbits roasting. I was going to get them but my lovely wife, protector of all living things, ran me off. Next time I'll get them.

We know nothing of the personal circumstances of the OP, and speculation on his reasons for not replying to this thread is exactly that: speculation.

This has all gone well off topic and is rapidly heading in a direction that is very much contrary to the charter; thread locked.
