    Side arms are fun:D

I have dropped all other equipment and relied on my pistol a few times when speed is of the essence.

Defo, Gbb pistols are well cool. Their are some great cheap ones out their like the kj sig p226. Full metal, it can be ran on propane. Plus if you want to go 'pinking' you dont have to wait for a battery to charge ect ect. Just, fill it up with gas and off you go!

You don't really need a side arm, but as said above if your primary gets hit your out.
But when starting out I'd suggest spending the money on mags, camp and the alike.

Simple answer, no. You don't need anything beyond your primary. They're useful to have though, for various reasons. If your rifle gets hit, you run out of ammo for it, battery dies, it jams etc, you can continue the game using your sidearm. Also, if you find yourself in a tight place where your rifle might be hindering your movement, like a tight killhouse or heavy vegetation, having the option of a pistol can be great.
But, like I said, you don't need one. No need to be in any hurry to get one. Have a look at the lads at your next skirmish using them and decide if they suit you.

You could buy a G18 and a few hi cap mags (the 50 round ones) and plenty of gas. its fully automatic so it'll help in moments when you need to be mobile easily.

A good, full-metal gas blow-back pistol is not essential for skirmishing by any means, but it's just great fun. If you have the right gas and look well after it, you'll be amazed with the kick from the blow-back, and you'll have lots of fun with it. As I've posted elsewhere here, I can't wait in a skirmish for a chance to take the pistol out and use it, because it feels so much better than the AEGs, as good as they are.

They're not too pricey either. Well worth it. Just remember, they look exactly like the real thing, so only take it out at a skirmishing venue.

Advise buying a G18, but one thing I have seen a lot of is loosing mags... best solution is the Hard plastic Holster to go with it, www.ebaybanned.com has them, I got one and aint lost a mag since... :-)

you can get a little strap that goes on the grip of a pistol and its straps under the mag with velcro so the mag cant fall out., pretty handy little device., although ive not had any probs with glock mags falling out, there pretty solid., M9s are prone to it though.,

I drilled a Small hole in the Rear of the Grip behind where the mag is, bassically an empty space, and put the Langyard through that, if yer doing that make sure its up high enough, abt 5 mm to support the weight :-)
