I posted here 6 months ago about how I was scammed on eBay (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055268379).
I (stupidly) bought a Nokia N95 for €74 which of course I never received.
I just looked at my Paypal account and it's been credited this amount by the seller. Obviously I am very happy but I am just wondering how this happened?
I can't remember if I opened a dispute on ebay about it, I think I emailed a complaint to the seller though so maybe that's why I got refunded.
One would imagine they wouldn't have refunded me without acting under duress.

Or unless the seller didn't intend to scam you and merely refunded you for an item they were unable to supply. :)

Not really, the most likely reason is that they wanted to use the account again. If the account got shut down they need to settle all disputes before Paypal will activate it again and since Paypal ruled in your favor he had to refund the money.

I can't recall if I did open a dispute or not, I don't really care about how it happened, I'm just glad to get my money back.

According to your original thread, you could not be bothered to open a dispute

Yeah I think I was busy at the time. Makes it even more surprising that they gave me my money back.
