I'm guessing you are talking about downloading illegally - then no I can't recommend you anything. Can see this getting locked tbh.

Try www.archive.org. All stuff legal and free.
    You might find something there.

stage6 was divx's official movie site - but it closed down early this year because of rampant piracy.

There are similar sites like that one around. You select a single item, get transferred, click on "Download", you get transferred to a site that is basically a search engine
    - NOT THE ITEM YOU WANT - and your out the fee for what you thought was the actual link to the item you wanted.

Such sites are scams - be very careful. Its just another version of free Torrent search engines except worse.

Oh, and probably full of spyware too.

The vuze torrent client has a built in media cannel thingy. All free and legal movies.

    Possibly.

Note the writing on one bottom of that site - quote:
"OnlineVideoDB.com is an online video playlist generator (OOPS - A SEARCH ENGINE!). It is a free to use tool for webmasters (REALLY!) and individuals to share (Thats you) videos from hosts such as Youtube, Veoh, Dailymotion, etc. OnlineVideoDB.com does not host or store any of the content displayed on the site. All abuse emails should be sent to the party responsible for hosting or linking to the videos."

....so they DON'T have 80 Million videos as boasted.
Its a search engine that you pay for!

Keep well clear of this trash.

on top of which, there's no guarantee that what you're watching is legal. i know for a fact that veoh have quite a large amount of copyrighted material.

    Hi

I signed up for the moviedownload site and think i have been completely rippped off. Has anyone ever heard of it?

I signed up thinking i was paying 20 dollars and all of a sudden i receive a mail saying thank you for signing up and paying 60 dollars....I have tried contacting them but its impossible all i get back are automatic messages.

Does anyone know anything about it? I went back into the site thinking i could now log in and download but of course it says i never existed and asks me to pay again.....

You've been scammed. What you paid for is software that is available for free elsewhere. It actually says it right there on the front page:

"We provide you FREE Movie download software, DVD Copy Software, Movie Players, CD Burning Software, VIP technical support & more."

You're paying to become a member of the site, not for the software. I can't see you getting that money back. Read the fine print next time.

There's a sticky in the broadband forum all about how best to use bittorrent programs. It'll include links to .torrent files to test your connection.

for example this one maxs my connection in about 3 minutes (1Mb/sec)

    http://torrent.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/torrents/KNOPPIX_V5.1.1CD-2007-01-04-EN.torrent (legal KNOPPIX linux dstribution)

It also mentions a trick for Windows SP2 suers to include p2p speeds by editing the tcpip.sys driver.
