I've got a few, club orange has its advantages, love pepsi, but the winner has to be Fanta from fountains in places like subway, mcdonalds.

it tastes the way it tastes in spain, france and in the usa.

the fanta in ireland tastes differently for me so i never drink it from a can or bottle.

i like the real orange coloured one, not the bright orange you get here.

Does fruit juice count? I think you cant beat real pressed apple juice, not the concentrate stuff.

Also Carp Diam? i think, is a nice drink.

They're all disgustingly sweet and sickly and rot your teeth into the bargain. Pure fruit juice or water are the only 'soft' drinks I drink.

Sure isn't the acid in fruit juice just as bad for your teeth as fizzy drinks?

I love San Pellegrino Chinotto but have been only able to find it it 6 oz. bottles in Dublin. I've seen it in cans in Italy but haven't seen them here.

Diet Coke. Love it. I don't like regular Coke much at all though.

Coke, fanta etc have the same sugar content as most fruit juices, all around 11%. You always hear BS like "coke has 234 spoons of sugar per can", well so does orange juice, you must have a really small spoon.

Lilt is quite low in sugar, actually skimmed milk has more sugar than full sugar lilt, sugar in the form of lactose, not very sweet but sugar all the same, unprocessed though.

The acid is what really gets the teeth, and fruit juice has its share. Coke has phosphoric acid which is used to remove rust from steel and clean copper pipes, you can get it in woodies to clean pipes out. But the hydrochloric acid in your stomach is way stronger anyway. So saying "imagine what it does to your insides" is not really a valid statement. It will wreck teeth though.

Diet drinks- club orange, & coke zero
Normal- pressed M&S pineapple juice, the "pressed in the last 48hrs" stuff if you can get it, pricey but gorgeous. And ice cold coke in a big glass bottle. Dunno why we do not have more reusable glass bottles in this day & age with green issues.

TK Red Lemonade. Not too sweet, not too bubbly and making a big comeback. Delicious with a crisp sandwich.
Cadet Cola. Superior cola taste and making a comeback also. It comes in perfectly sized little bottle (200ml I think). Perfect with Rancheros and a Topic.

I wish they'd bring Vanilla Coke back. In the meantime Red Bull and Dr. Pepper will suffice

Is that the stuff that tastes kinda like Jagermeister?
If so, it's the worst soft drink I've ever had the misfortune of tasting.

Dr. Pepper is good. Definitely agree with the Fanta in Spain too. Had it and was amazed at the taste. I also quite like Cream Soda.

Orangina wins hands down. Really hard to find here but i was on holiday in France and couldn't get enough of the stuff into me. The blood orange one is delish too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,088 ✭✭✭rag2gar

I cannot understand how fanta is still stocked in every shop in Ireland. Club Orange is so superior its untrue. Who buys cans/bottles of fanta?

Also, i cannot think of a single succesful advertisng campaign for the drink. Strange

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,140 ✭✭✭olaola

Club Orange when I'm at home (or Rock Shandy)
    Orangina when I'm in France.
Lilt when the thirst is killing me.
Coke Zero is also a winner.

You can get it the odd time in places. It's a +1 for me, one that grew for me.
I think vitaminwater would sell bucketloads if it was launched here, awful for you though
