A follow up to this thread.

Smartmouse, AltDVB and NDScam plugin, a FTV card with a Technotrend 3200 DVB-S2 card. Works more or less straight out of the box, perfectly smoothly with no glitches.

erm...i'd be very interested in this set up. Would this allow me to watch my setanta subscription on the pc?

Where does one get this equipment?

Yes, should work OK although you usually need to leave the card in a digibox overnight every 4/5 weeks if it deactivates. The software is freeware. A Phoenix Smartmouse with a 3.57MHz oscillator is about €15 on ebay. You may also need a 12V DC power supply and a "straight through" serial cable.

Presumably this set up decodes the Irish channels nicely if they're available on the card?

You could try either a USB-to-Serial adapter or a USB version of the Smartmouse-Phoenix.

Did you insert the card the right way i.e. contacts pointing upwards?
Which version of the Infinity device did you get? What software are you using?

    yep right way up...:)
Just can't detect what type of card i'm using. Think it might be the reader as it is not working on my old NTL cards either. (of course it could be me as i don't know my arse from my elbow...lol)

Bugger. Last thing i want is the hassle of an rma to a german retailer.

It's an infinity unlimited. with 2.71 software but tried 2.61, 2.63, 2.65 too.

What program are you using to display the channels? Can you see the NDScam menu in the plugins section?
