only thing that irks me with Chrome is that it blocks the windows taskbar from popping up at base of screen, other than that i'm well impressed with it.

    no it doesn't.

edit: sorry, you're right. i didn't think anyone used auto-hide though! it's fine if you don't use that feature.

edit 2: actually, i take that back, it doesn't block it even on auto hide.

i'm on Xp myself, it's actually hit and miss i've found, it seems to work 90% of the time but then sometimes you hover and nothing happens.

Just tested out the autohide thing here on Vista 64. For me Chrome in maximised mode prevents the autohidden taskbar from appearing as well.
However I do not normally use autohide on the taskbar anyway. Also, for some reason I never liked maximising any web browser, so for years, instead of maximising my browser I have simply resized the normal browser window so that it is almost the same size as when it's maximised. If you do this with Chrome it should allow you to use the taskbar the way you like.

its actually what im doing with chrome tbh.. I've resized the window so that its just above the taskbar. If i maximize it I get no taskabr... Im on vista home premium btw

Chrome solved a video and java playing problems for me that I had with Firefox so I like it that way.

    Choice of preferences is still.

    1. Firefox
    2. Chrome
    anything else before

    99. Micro$oft Explorer
