Windows Media Player and Quick Time player

    I prefer Windows Media Player but I need to have Quick Time player installed for iTunes to work and QuickTime over-rides Windows Media Player on my comp. How do I make Windows Media PLayer the default player or over-ride QuickTime.

    There are options to do this during the QuickTime install but that's not much good now!

    Could right click on all file types you want WMP to open, such as .mp4 and choose Open With, pick WMP, tick 'always use this program' or whatever it's called and click OK.

    You didn't mention which OS your using, if its Vista Control Panel -> Default Programs either "Set your Default Program" select Windows Media Player -> Set this program as default or Choose defaults for this program and select the file types you want to change, or select "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" select the file type and click the Change Program button.

    If your using XP ->Control Panel -> Folder Options -> select the File Types tab, choose your file type(s) and click the "Change" button and select the program you want to associate with that file type.
