    Hi,

Hoping that some of you guys would be able to help me out with advice on a basic laptop. Nothing special just functional. So here's the snizzle.

Budget: About €200-€500 but the less expensive the better.

Intended use: Primarily wireless internet use via digiweb broadband. Some media playing capabilities (windows media player, realplayer, itunes, CD's DVD's) Absolutely NO need for microsoft office or any of that sort of stuff. Vista would be nice as I'm used to it as an OS.

    Mobility: Not really relevant.

    Warranty: Not important.

    Thanks for any help given.

If it's just for basic use, as stated, and given your budget, it might be worth your while trying second hand, good deals can be had. Obviously there are disadvantages when buying second hand, a big one would be battery life, as the older the battery the less charge it will hold.
